Who’s the real fighting/combat expert?
What does it take to be a real fighting/combat/self defense expert and not some wannabe?
I’ve had one over riding burning desire for the majority of my life and that is to be the most complete real world fighter I could be. To start with I wasn’t satisfied with the limitations of Traditional Martial Arts so I sought out innovators with verifiable skills. I wasn’t interested in theory guys or those that had never been tested. No, I had to find the elite, hard core, few that were true warriors–true legends or legends in the making.
Because of this intense personal motivation I was able to train one on one with some incredible people: Gene LeBell, Mike Sanlin, and John Saylor (to name a few that I put in lots of hours with). I did this through pure force of character. That is to say it took enormous energy and effort to travel and live where these experts were living. It was a huge cost in terms of time, money, lost relationships, lost jobs, physical pain and living an extremely narrow life style.
The reality is that few people will do what I’ve done. I’ve lived in lots of dangerous places so that I could learn. For example, I was in several inner cities in the U.S.A. and various Third World locations. I went to the Netherlands in the hardest core gyms to train and fight; likewise, I lived in Thailand (still do) to train and fight; I lived in Cambodia to do the same. I also went to the Philippines to train. This all was done to establish AUTHENTIC knowledge via personal experience (unlike the wannabes who tell you all about techniques they’ve never actually fought with). Moving forward, even though you just read an outline of some of my quest, those brief sentences hardly tell the story about what was involved in just finding these incredible experts–they aren’t listed on Google (which is how the wannabes steal info). To find the hardcore elite experts is a whole art and science of its own.
Let’s face it, I have been lucky in the fact that I’ve earned my way into some very exclusive circles. Even if you were willing to do what I’ve done in regards to travel and sacrificing money and time the chances of you being accepted with these elite guys was and is not very good. Number one, it takes having seriously strong contacts and number two, it takes a certain verifiable level of credentials (earned from real fights) that, frankly, 95% of the population doesn’t have (and can’t acquire).
True, we weren’t there for you personally at a steep lower price. viagra tab Also the pill should not be taken if you are going to viagra 20mg cipla have alcohol. The Tongkat Ali is usually used just like a solution for various problems in the torso, look at these guys cialis without prescription mainly in the Southeast Elements of Asia where the herb is often found. So, in all respect, you will canadian viagra generic get the similar description on both the medicine. Hard reality: It’s not an easy life to be a real warrior–you pay for it in accumulated damage, medical bills, hard travelling, strange looks from the “normal” people and envy from the local heroes (the guys who can’t make it on the World level–but are big fish in their little village, tiny suburb or small corner of the planet). And the real truth is that to be a real expert requires first being a real warrior.
And unlike the Youtube technique stealing, torrent watching wannabes, to become a real expert means taking chances, proving yourself over and over. Something I have done time and time again. Actually, my desire to become one of the leading living combat authorities in the World still continues. To accomplish this I am returning to the Philippines. Yeah, I’m going there to continue my blade and stick training. Luckily, I’ve made enough of an impact with the right people so that I can train with them–by the way, these are some seriously scary people. These are guys who have fought stick duels and these are guys who actively use blades in combat. As an example, one of my training periods will be with the Filipino Recon Marines (I’ll be bivouacking with them). These guys routinely use blades in combat. Hell they just used them on missions in the last month (there are two variations of Isis in the Philippines that they are fighting in the jungle and in urban areas). This is no pattern in the air training like what you will find from the wannabes touting their great skill in weapons which, in reality, they have never used in combat. No these are legitimate bad asses–like everyone I associate with.
The thing you got to keep in mind is that all of these guys out there claiming expert status (especially the Youtube wave of wannabe fighting experts) don’t have a tenth of my background. And who’s fault is that? After all, no one held them back but themselves. They weren’t ready to give up comfort, weren’t ready to sacrifice, weren’t ready to learn other languages, weren’t ready to put themselves in danger and really fight. But, yet, they were ready to act like experts. And that means they’ll tell you about what works. How in the hell would they know? Oh, that’s right they’ve stolen all of their information and just act like they know what they are talking about. After all, they have no empirical evidence.
You see, to be a REAL EXPERT means you have personal experience. Something you don’t get from books, stealing videos and DVDs and rehashing others’ moves.
Let’s recap: To expand my personal experience I will be in the Philippines with the real been there done it guys. And where will the wannabes be? Stealing moves from some of my past work, more than likely.
So the ultimate question is the following: who would you rather learn with?
